Why Rome Police Department?

Our goal is to be the model of excellence in law enforcement.  We strive for peace, safety, and the suppression of crime.  We all maintain the trust and confidence of all people while working to improve quality of life in one of the top small cities in the United States.

Located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Rome was founded in 1834 and has a strong arts community, a passion for history and a respect for the three gentle rivers - the Etowah, Oostanaula and Coosa - winding through the heart of the city.

Rome is a major hub for both medical care and higher education, with award-winning hospitals and specialty care facilities as well as multiple colleges, universities, and technical schools in the area.
