The City of Rome Community Development Department's primary responsibility lies in making applications for and administration of awards from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs' (DCA) Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP).

The Rome/Floyd Development Authority (RFCDA) works with new industries to help them move to the community, and with existing industries to expand their operations. The RFCDA owns several publicly-owned industrial parks and markets these properties to companies. Additionally, we are authorized to offer incentives to these companies to help lower their cost while they are investing in the community.
